Smyth County Community Hospital

A 170-bed acute, not for profit community based hospital located in Marion, Virginia.  In addition, the hospital has a 109-bed intermediate care nursing care facility on campus -- Francis Marion Manor, and offers a variety of outreach programs including Homecare and Outreach Clinics.

Lifetime Wellness Center

In partnership with Smyth County Community Hospital, this facility was designed to meet the needs of individuals of all ages and walks of life through affordable membership and outreach education. Through classes tailored to your needs and interests, and access to the fitness industry's most modern facility and advanced exercise equipment you can achieve the level of fitness you want in a safe and comfortable environment.

Emergency Services

911 Emergency 

The Smyth County Board of Supervisors, Town Councils of Marion, Chilhowie and Saltville, and the Tazewell County community of Tannersville have been working together since early 1994 to plan an E9-1-1 System for the entire County. All five governing bodies along with fire and rescue organizations are represented on the 16-member 9-1-1 Committee that has been working to establish the enhanced E9-1-1 System.

 

Marion Volunteer Fire Department

Devoted to Providing the best fire suppression and other emergency services to the Greater Marion Community, and to develop the best-trained fire service in Smyth County.

 

Chilhowie Volunteer Fire Department

Chilhowie Volunteer Fire Department serves an area of approximately 80 square miles, including the town of Chilhowie and a part of Smyth County and Washington County. The members are cross-trained as firefighters and EMS providers.

 

Animal Control

Smyth County Animal Control and Shelter provides for the humane treatment of stray, neglected and abused animals.
