Smyth County Sheriff's Office

The Smyth County Sheriff’s Office is a full service law enforcement agency responsible for covering approximately 452 square miles. It serves the county’s population of approximately 33,081.  Currently the Sheriff’s Office employs 47 full time and 23 part time employees.  These officers are assigned to Field, Investigations, Court Security/Transport, Civil Process Service, Warrant Service, Crime Prevention, Communications and Administrative.

 

The Sheriff's Office has relocated to 819 Matson Drive, Marion VA 24354.

 

Sheriff R. David Bradley will retire from the Sheriff’s Office on
December 31, 2015.  Sheriff Bradley has served in law enforcement for 40 years and as the Sheriff of Smyth County for 20 years.  He has been known since his election in 1995 as the “The People’s Sheriff”.  Congratulations and thank you Sheriff Bradley
for serving our community!
