Project Lifesaver

Project Lifesaver is a program now available to Smyth County citizens through
the Smyth County Sheriff's Office.

Copy of your Accident Report
To request by mail you need to send a letter along with a self addressed
stamped envelope. To request in person you must go to the Sheriff’s Office.
This report is released to the individuals involved and/or the insurance
company. No juvenile information will be released.
Copy of Offense Reports
We do release copies of offense reports however; we will provide only a
summary to the victims/complaints and the insurance company.
Door to Door Solicitor Permits for County
You must fill out an application at the Sheriff’s Office
You will need to bring an acceptable form of ID.
A criminal history check will be completed
If approved, by the Sheriff’s Office
You will need to pay the Smyth County Treasurer a $20 fee. This permit is
valid for one (1) week.
Concealed Weapon Permits
Pick up your application at the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court.
Take your completed application and $40 fee, with your proof of training for
new applications to the Clerk of the Circuit Court.
A criminal history check and driver's transcript will be run by the
Sheriff’s Office at the request of the Clerk. The permit will be
issued if approved by the Judge.

registry, or criminal/civil warrants, please contact Arthur Barker at
276-782-4056. Deputy Barker is also responsible for grants for the
Sheriff's Office.
