Smyth County Water and Sewer Department

Rates

To receive service at an address now being served, you must complete an application and pay the $25.00 Application Fee for each service you want. The application and fee are required each time the name on the account is changed.

To receive service at an address that is not now served but is located near an existing line, you must complete an application and pay the connection fee of $545 for water and /or $700 for sewer.

Current Residential Rates:

Water $20.00 for the first 3,000 gallons and $6.00 for each additional 1,000 gallons.  This rate applies to all county water systems.
Sewer $12.50 for the first 1,000 gallons of metered water and $6.00 per 1,000 thereafter.

Current Commercial Water:

Water $25.00 for the first 4,000 gallons and $6.00 for each additional 1,000 gallons.  This rate applies to all county water systems.

Current Commercial/Industrial Sewer:

Sewer $50.00 for the first 3,000 gallons of metered water and $6.00 per 1,000 thereafter.

Industrial Water:

Water $100.00 for the first 25,000 gallons and $6.00 for each additional 1,000 gallons.  This rate applies to all county water systems.
