Virginia Department of Taxation (link to screen) offers a website to assist
taxpayers with questionson filing and provide income tax forms at
www.tax.virginia.gov.
Virginia residents and part-year residents who have taxable income and who
have filed a
Federal Income tax return are to submit a Virginia Income Tax return by May
1st of each year.
The Commissioner of the Revenue office is available to assist with questions
regarding the
state returns and serve as a liaison for any questions dealing with
correspondence received
from the Virginia Department of Taxation.
Assistance with basic questions regarding Federal Income Tax questions will
be addressed
by the Commissioner of the Revenue office, but more advanced questions will
be directed
our local Accounting / CPA firms in Smyth County or to the Internal Revenue
Service office.
